WOS, in regard to the original question, through my studies I cannot say categorically yes everything we do for evil or for good in this life will be repaid back in this life. In saying that I can say that I have definately observed people being brought low for having an arrogant attitude toward me. In living for Christ I have learned that He is the one I am to leave vengeance to and in doing that, He has repaid people for evil they have done in this life. I believe we do get "paid back" for how we treat others. I know I certainly have and have tried to learn and grow from it. The bible does say somewhere that He hates arrogance and pride and He knows how to humble them, us. And yes I believe it happens in this life. And in that sense I believe we reap what we sow. And yes you are right I did not expound on the whole chapter. The next time you see someone being arrogant, prideful, abusive, just sit back and watch and don't be surprised if what they have done doesn't come back to haunt them. The bible also says somewhere you can be sure your sins will find you out. Finally I don't believe these questions can be answered completely in this manner but require a complete topical study. Each person doing his own study. Until that is done, I really would not want to pursue talking it out. There are many many things I do not know but this one thing I do know, no one gets away with sin forever, either in this life and definately not in the next. So I guess that was more than you wanted to know. Rather than correct me I wish you would give me your take from your studies of course on the original question. Thanks, Val

Well, you’re going to have me apologizing all night aren’t you dear sister? I thought I was giving you my take when I said I thought you might have missed the point of the scripture you cited in reference to the question. As a follower of Christ, I’m under the impression that is part of our obligation to Him. The questioner didn't miss the point as it was a question being asked not an answer being given. So I responded where I thought it was appropriate. You surely don’t have to take my post as authoritative and hope that you in fact wouldn’t without your own study of the Word. And since you have already done that, and still come to a different view, you’re right, not much more we can discuss. Although, I wonder why you think I was correcting you? I was simple expanding on God’s word because it seemed to more thoroughly explain reaping and sowing in the context of just more than one verse. Was that wrong? Would you have been as offended if I made the same post to the original question? And at that point, why? Val, I’m just trying to understand why you feel your post to the original question is in itself not supposed to be questioned? Aren’t we supposed to lift each other up? 1Thessalonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Or do you feel because I tried to live up to those facts that I in some way belittled you? I’m truly sorry if I expressed anything other than love for God’s Word and inadvertently offended you. But I truly hope that if another on this forum could expand on and elaborate on a post that I make, they would do it. Because as you are sure of some things, I’m sure that I do not know it all and am growing each and every day. Stand in His grace, WOS |

WOS - I was not referring to you. I was referring to my experiences in life outside of the present. You are not offending at all. I thought we settled that previously. You seemed to want me to elaborate on my point and I did. It still didn't go over well. Thats why I don't like to argue/discuss/expound whatever word you chose in a setting like this. Our words are much more magnified when we see them in print. The tone of a person's voice is not heard. Their expressions of explanation cannot be seen. It seems we go around in circles trying to communicate this way. Since we do not know people personally it is hard to see where they are coming from. I gave a verse I thought the questioner was asking for. And as he stated he already knew the answer he wanted. You owe me no further apology at all. Your first one was accepted and I thought we moved on. But my response brought about an offense to you. See what I mean. Sometimes we get lost in all the words. So I can't explain myself any clearer than I have already done. I am afraid it would cause further stress so it was a good experience and I am sure the Lord will use it to grow me spirtually. You are a nice guy. Thank you - we're good. And to Azure I don't believe I can explain it and be understood so I will let you all have the last word. Blessings to you, Val

Dear Val, I do feel better to know that we’re good, really. As well, I know exactly what you mean concerning our communication in this manner. I’ll do better if I continually remind myself of that. And thank you for the nice guy comment, although, I’m surely not as nice as I probably should be. But I feel God’s improving me in that area also. Thank you sister. Stand in His grace, WOS |
