No I didn't miss the point. It is the questioner who may research the verses surrounding this verse and conduct his own in depth study if he choses. Why don't you answer his question since you didn't like my answer?

By the way Val, I meant no disrespect. It wasn’t that I didn’t like your answer, I simply thought it was incomplete and in that maybe a bit misleading. Not that I think it was intentional. I apologize if you took it personally as that was not my intent. After all, this is a place to study the Word, how do we do that if we can’t talk things through. Stand in His grace, WOS |

WOS, in regard to the original question, through my studies I cannot say categorically yes everything we do for evil or for good in this life will be repaid back in this life. In saying that I can say that I have definately observed people being brought low for having an arrogant attitude toward me. In living for Christ I have learned that He is the one I am to leave vengeance to and in doing that, He has repaid people for evil they have done in this life. I believe we do get "paid back" for how we treat others. I know I certainly have and have tried to learn and grow from it. The bible does say somewhere that He hates arrogance and pride and He knows how to humble them, us. And yes I believe it happens in this life. And in that sense I believe we reap what we sow. And yes you are right I did not expound on the whole chapter. The next time you see someone being arrogant, prideful, abusive, just sit back and watch and don't be surprised if what they have done doesn't come back to haunt them. The bible also says somewhere you can be sure your sins will find you out. Finally I don't believe these questions can be answered completely in this manner but require a complete topical study. Each person doing his own study. Until that is done, I really would not want to pursue talking it out. There are many many things I do not know but this one thing I do know, no one gets away with sin forever, either in this life and definately not in the next. So I guess that was more than you wanted to know. Rather than correct me I wish you would give me your take from your studies of course on the original question. Thanks, Val

Dear Sister Val, Pray that God bless you abundantly in your study. As to your statement "...no one gets away with sin forever, either in this life and definately not in the next." Could you please elaborate more especially on the last part in order to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding of mine? Concerning your notion that "Rather than correct me I wish you would..." I respect your stand, however, as you should be aware of that everyone may make mistakes, it would also be a demonstration of Christ love when we help one another where correction might apply. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2 Tim 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. Shalom Azure |
