Dear John, Sorry... I stopped reading your post after you wrote "I didn't finish taking the 'Litmus Test'... ...then I saw "other than the Bible for a friend" ... hmmmm... As this is a Bible Study Forum, functioning under the explicit direction of our gracious host, the Lockman Foundation, citing Scripture is a regular occurrence. Nonetheless, perhaps the following book would help: "Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know" by Wayne Grudem and Elliot Grudem. Note, however, that it is a book that will direct your friend to the Bible. The Bible is our source of authority. In Him, Doc |

Another one of the compassionate people like yourself, who is connected with the forum discussion, supplied the information we needed. Thank you so much for your consideration and time spent. So that I may stay within the guidlines of our gracious host, 'The Lockman Foundation', is it o.k. to ask such a question, are there any other reference books other than the Bible that may be useful or helpful? | ||||||

Hi, John... It is longer than a typical user post, but you can read the Terms of Use as required by Lockman here: http://www.studybibleforum.com/termsreview.php You may ask whatever question you choose. However, as the forum is based on sola scriptura, one should expect that members will support their assertions by citing Scripture. More than that, as members of the forum, we will make every effort to assure our many silent readers, that the Bible is our sole source of authority, entirely sufficient, fully complete, and absolutely necessary. While seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you might want to be sensitive to what He has revealed to others. His revelation does not come in platitudes, sound bites, or effortless mysticism -- Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, and Joyce Meyer notwithstanding. Sorry... I think I wrote too much... Abstract of Post: It is O.K. In Him, Doc |
