1 | Gross or Net Income/ | 2 Cor 9:6 | Emt2001 | 165409
As a NT church, new Christian is it that a tithe equals 10 percent of your gross or net income? I am confused on this issue. Could you please provide me with some scripture to help me with the whole plan of tithes.
2 | Gross or Net Income/ | 2 Cor 9:6 | Shythiyl | 165440
When I had my own business, money was plentiful. I chose to tithe my gross. Now that I am have closed it and am working for someone else, naturally there is not so much money coming in. Scripture says that we are to tithe all our "gains." Gross is not 100 percent gains. Net is. Keep in mind though, that if one gets an Income Tax refund, that is a gain if the Net was tithed. If the Gross was tithed, it is not. I often tithed every cent that came in. I did not care to penny pinch. I later changed that, and am just as blessed as ever, if not more so. Whatever is from the heart, is what God is interested in. Not the fulfilment of legalistic obligation. No doubt many sill disagree, but I would ask them? "Where does scripture say that we are to tithe anything other than gain?" |
