2 Corinthians Ch:7 Verse 1 What promies the Apostle Paul were referring to.
2 | What were the promies. | 2 Cor 6:16 | New Creature | 166909
I believe the answer to that question can be found in the verses that lead up to 2 Cor. 7:1. 2 Cor. 7:1 begins by saying; "Having therefore these promises" In order to find out what the therefore is therefore, we have to look in 2 Cor. 6 2 Cor 6:16 And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2 Cor 6:17 Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you, 2 Cor 6:18 And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. The promises from the above verses which Paul alluded to are: 1. That God would reside or indwell believers, who separate themselves from the world. And He would be their God, and they would be His people (verse 16) 2.And He would receive us. (That is, He will receive and recognize you as His friends and adopted children.)(verse 17) 3. He would be a Father to us, and we His spiritual children (verse 18) Hope that helps |
