2 | meaning of the word GRACE | 2 Cor 5:17 | teragram123 | 62098 | ||
Strong's definition is the best I have heard... "Strong’s charis, khar'-ece; from Greek 5463 (chairo); graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude) :- acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy)" If we say we live by grace our life must reflect it outward toward others as well as manifest the work of the Spirit on the inside. It is far more than salvation and security for all eternity... but rather a manifestation of a new creature in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 2 Cor. 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: |
