2 | is a disobedient christian an unbeliever | 1 Cor 7:15 | JuanMas | 61537 | ||
So does his willfull disobedience automatically make him an unbeliever? And can his wife now divorce him and remarry under 1 cor 7:15? By the way, I appreciate your taking time to respond to my question. I've been getting contradictory opinions on the subject and appreciate any clarification you may offer. |

JuanMas I don't think a true believer can loss his salvation, however that begs the question would a true believer allow himself to live in willful disobedience? A persons salvation is between them and God, however if they know to do what is right and don’t do it then that is sin. If the man abandons his wife he has put her in a very difficult situation. The word says Matthew 5:32 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. Three things take place, first the man breaks a vow he made between God, Himself and the woman. Two he has caused her to open herself to adultery, three the man violated what he knows to be wrong. I would not want to be in this man’s shoes. He stands responsible for the adultery of the wife, the man that marries her and himself. If I were him I would get back my wife, take her to counseling, and resolve the issues that made her do what she did in the first place. EdB |
