I liked Beja's answer but I would caution you with a couple of ideas. In such difficult situations as you're describing here, I would suggest that you host such a person with a partner, preferably your spouse. In my mind, there's nothing stronger on this earth than a couple united with God in their marriage AND this would set before them a perfect example of what God's ideal union is all about. Second thing I would say is that God reserves a special blessing for those who have a heart like He does for the sinful and misguided of this world. IF your friend is truly open minded to His Truth and can be converted, then you'll be a very special person in God's Family. BUT I would also say IF this friend of yours is bent on persisting in their lifestyle, then you must see through their veneer and treat them accordingly. Like Beja mentioned, you should mark them as being willfully disobedient and avoid them. BUT that doesn't mean we should stop praying for them; as a matter of fact, make sure they know we (all of God's family) are indeed praying for them. |
