A steward is an overseer of something, it can also be a person who is entrusted with the caretaking of something that is not his own whether it is a house, a task, business affairs or in a metaphorical sense in relation to the divine mysteries as referred to in 1 Corinthians 4:1. The mysteries you are referring to are the secrets of the bible that are hidden or beyond human understanding. There are many things that we are told about in the bible that have not happened such as the time of Jesus return. I believe we should have an attitude of awe, respect, thanksgiving, and joyous celebration. God's mysteries are His words to us. They are what our salvation is based on. We should care for all of His word deeply, holding it close to our hearts. We should do our best to see that it is not twisted or put down. We should guard what has been entrusted to us with our lives if need be. We should be ready to share at all times as He instructed us to do. We should be stewards over His word as He would do Himself. | ||||||
