1 | New culture, and a new welcome? | 1 Cor 14:24 | justme | 237910 | ||
Today men and women have tattoo's of all kinds, in highly visible places, and some with sexual overtones, and some naked pictures. The words are sometime's raw in meaning. A number of folks are not christians, and are coming to find about God. No one would turn away those seeking Jesus, or those who just came on just wnating to see what a church is all about. What should we say or do, beyond saying welcome to the House of God? |

Hi, justme... I don't think that the external appearance of people makes any difference; we do not want to be found guilty of the warning in James 2:1-9. When outsiders come into our midst they should hear the Word of God and see it walked out by all of us. "But if all prophesy [speak the Word of God intelligibly and in clarity], and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you." I agree with Doc answer on this but there is a caution we can not let the world become the church's norm. That is to say if people come to Christ that have tattoo's that is fine but the church people should not then adopt the look by getting tattoos themselves. This is the problem today, instead of the church being a light or an example to the world the church is following the example set by the world. |
