1 | WHAT DOES PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT MEAN? | 1 Cor 14:15 | Searcher56 | 54697
Scripture ... Eph 6:18 (context vv 10-18) ... "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (NIV). The context is the armor of God. We need the Holy Spirit as we pray, as our power source. Notice that 1 Corinthians 14:15 says "with my", so this is not the same. Read my note to DianeDew. Hope this helps, Searcher |

2 | WHAT DOES PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT MEAN? | 1 Cor 14:15 | Ray | 55021
Hi Searcher, You have given us some good thoughts here. I believe that when we pray in the Spirit we pray with God's will and thoughts in our mind. Ephesians 6:18 gave Romans 8:26 as a reference verse. Ephesians 6:18, "With all prayer and petition pray at all time in the Spirit/, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints." Romans 8:26, "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God/." |

Romans 8:26 shows me that the Spirit Himself with groanings too deep for words ... it is not us. I think because we are weak. Searcher
4 | WHAT DOES PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT MEAN? | 1 Cor 14:15 | Ray | 55226
Hi Searcher56, The Holy Spirit intercedes for us and He who died, who is at the right hand of God, also intercedes for us. God knows our hearts and all things will work together for His purpose and His will. From the heart, Ray |
