1 | Holy Ghost Baptism subsequent to salvati | 1 Cor 12:13 | WTE | 4504 | ||
The baptism of the holy spirit is in fact NOT subsequent to salvation, it takes place at the very moment of salvation, as a work of God. The Holy Spirit is NOT a thing or substance but a person of the trinity. When we are saved, we are "Baptized" (1Cor. 12:13; Acts 11:16) placed INTO the body of Christ and given the Holy Spirit to indwells us from the point of salvation on (Jn. 14:21,26; 15:26) as a seal, downpayment, earnest or guarantee of our salvation (Eph. 1:13,14; 4:30; 2 Cor. 1:22; 5:5). A saved person HAS the Spirit indwelling them a unsaved person does not this is WHY the indwelling is not a subsequent tranaction but occurs once and for all at the point of salvation and lasts UNTIL our redemption when we go to be with Christ. The Holy Spirit signifies or is a declaration of God's OWNERSHIP and is the irrevocable title deed to our salvation. SEE - Rom. 8:9,23. |
