1 | Baptized before serving in choir | 1 Cor 12:13 | CDBJ | 183276 | ||
Greetings Azurelaw, I would have gotten back to you sooner but my computer decided to be obstinate with regards to the internet. I would sure hate to think that the only reason one would be baptized would be to satisfy the requirements designated as such to be able to sing in a choir. Out of pure reason; if one wasn’t eager to be baptized, just because the Lord commanded it, I would question their motive to want to praise Him in song. If one doesn’t exhibit faithfulness in respect to the Lord’s desire why would someone even want them in their choir? This is “strictly my viewpoint”! CDBJ |

Thanks CDBJ. I agree with you that there is no point for a true believer not to be baptised whenever it is possible. I trust that no one in our church would be baptized solely or partly for the reason of being a choir member. What about children choir? We have a children choir. Some did not receive infant baptising. (Though there is no scriptural support for infant baptising). Is it that their parents hold accountable for them so as to decide the children be involved in the music ministry? Thanks. Shalom Azure |
