1 | Is God selfish? | Rom 9:20 | CURIOUS2 | 53797
Dear Elder I have a question which was posted by my younger sister and which I am also wanting to know the answer. I do love the Lord dearly but there are some honest questions that are in my heart and my sister's too. The question is why does God make Lucifer when He knows that Lucifer will sin against Him and consequently caused Adam and Eve to sin and the whole human race to suffer. Is not God selfish when His idea is to create human beings to fellowship with Him? I know He has done much in sacrificing His son for us, but look at the sufferings that are in the world right now. Would we not be better off if we wouldn't even created at all? Of course, you can say that the sufferings are created by Satan. But that will bring us back to the first question. Satan was created by God and God is omniscient! I eagerly await your answer. Sincerely |

2 | Is God selfish? | Rom 9:20 | Nicki | 54442
God did not create Satan, God created an Angel. This Angel, basically was kicked out of heaven because he did not want to obey God. This angel fell to the earth and it became his after adam and eve was tempted in the garden. Does this help?
3 | Is God selfish? | Rom 9:20 | kalos | 54459
After Adam and Eve were tempted in the garden, in the Psalms it is written: "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." Ps 24:1 Please give us the book, chapter and verse where it says that the earth is Satan's. |

Hi, kalos; Ephesians 2:2 and 6:12 don't speak of "ownership" of the earth, but they certainly do suggest that Satan is the ruler of the world. Or maybe just an evil steward since the King will return to claim his own. ;-) Not strictly the same, of course. Just my .01 of a dollar (not even worth .02 I acknowledge) Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |

Thanks for your answer, Steve. However, I am not sure how "prince of the power of the air" and "the rulers of the darkness of this age" are interpreted to imply ownership of the earth. I would point out that "the air" and "the darkness of this age" do not equal the earth. Not meaning any disrespect toward you or your answer. Just not convinced. Grace to you! kalos |

Hi, kalos; Agreed; as I said, not quite the same. Just thinking out loud on my keyboard before I went to church. Maybe it wasn't even worth one cent. ;-) Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |
