I would have to disagree with you about Satan's kingdom not having as it were a chain of command. Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The word principalities is translated from the Koine Greek word ARCHE which carries the following connotation. arche, ar-khay'; from Greek 756 (archomai); (properly abstract) a commencement, or (concrete) chief (in various applications of order, time, place or rank) beginning, corner, (at the, the) first (estate), magistrate, power, principality, principle, rule. (Strong's) C. WHY: TO STAND AGAINST THE DEVIL'S STRATEGY (6:11B-13) 6:11b-12. The purpose of putting on God's armor is to be able to stand against the schemes or stratagems (methodeias, used in the NT only here and in 4:14) of the devil or adversary (cf. 4:27). Christians are not to attack Satan, or advance against him; they are only to stand or hold the territory Christ and His body, the church, have conquered. Without God's armor believers will be defeated by the schemes of the devil which have been effective for thousands of years. The struggle is not physical (against flesh and blood); it is a spiritual conflict against the spiritual Mafia. Though the ranks of satanic forces cannot be fully categorized, the first two (rulers and authorities) have already been mentioned in 1:21 and 3:10. Paul added the powers of this dark world (cf. 2:2; 4:18; 5:8) and the spiritual forces of evil. Their sphere of activity is in the heavenly realms, the fifth occurrence of this phrase, which is mentioned in the New Testament only in 1:3, 20; 2:6; 3:10; 6:12. Satan, who is in the heavens (2:2) until he will be cast out in the middle of the Tribulation (Rev. 12:9-10), is trying to rob believers of the spiritual blessings God has given them (Eph. 1:3). I agree with you also. Did I say satans kingdom? What was I thinking! That's giving him too much credit! Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, He gave us the power and all authority over that lying devil. What do we do with, more than conquerors, He always causes us to triumph, He gives us the victory through our Lord, This is the victory that has overcome the world...etc.? I know we are in spiritual battle, I stand on The Word of God, so I can do all things, because I have the mind of Christ! I'm on the potters wheel, He is the One who is doing the shaping and molding and until He has completed His work the only place satan has in my life, is under my feet! The devil knows Peter and Paul's name well, he now knows my name too. we don't need to put up with his schemes or tricks, we are to cast them down. Thank you for responding my brother, I have seen some of your other posts and I respect that. Now lets give that devil a black eye and Keep lifting the Name of Jesus Higher! Gods Blessings, Keep fighting the good fight. |

When you say that Satan is under your feet you have a lot more nerve then I do in light of Jude 1:9 Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. I strongly believe that we should do as Paul recommended. Epees. 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. The next verse is where I might have a problem. Ephes. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. When Paul says put on, that means there is a process in doing this. The problem is there are times when I can't dress fast enough. Even the Romans didn't have there armour on all the time and don't think that the devil doesn't know our weak spots when we aren’t covered. 1 Cor. 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. I do a lot of hunting and a Lion is an easy target to spot the worst problem is the wolf that is dressed up like a cute little sheep and the wood are full of them now days,if you know what I mean! Even with all these warnings I have my biggest problem with my own old sin nature. I have a continuous little war going on in my head with the two natures that I now posses and believe me I claim 1Jonn 1:9, a good part of the time. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Satan loves to get us in a position where we are naturalized. He doesn't have any claim to the believers in Christ, but if he can get us to mess-up good, he knows that it will ruin our testimony for Christ, so that people won't listen to us anymore. We have to live the life if we are going to talk the talk! Have you ever heard the saying, (What you are doing speaks so loud that I can't hear what you are saying!) Satan's works aren’t over yet because Jesus is still seated at the Father's right hand. Don't let pride get the upper hand and cause a fall. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Be real careful before lifting your self up before the enemy! In Christ love,CDBJ |

CDBJ, All good points you make. As far as Satan goes, I stand on the word. I will not fear what Satan can do. Yes he's clever and knows our weaknesses, but if we stand firm in the Faith, in the Lord and put on the whole armor of God, then he's quite limited to what he can do. James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." I submit myself to God and resist the devil and he has to flee because the Word says so. 1 John 4:4 "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". 1 John 2:13 “I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father. 14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” 1 John 5:4 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.” We are above the enemy only because we have Jesus in us. Love in Christ. Happy Easter bgg |
