1 | Must we keep the law to be saved? | Rom 3:28 | Radioman2 | 88993 | ||
"Salvation is not a reward" Matt: You write: "But when does a person truly obtain salvation. God said that his reward is coming with him on the last day. Most men have not received this reward yet." My reply: Ephesians 2:8-9 New Living Translation (NLT) God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Grace and peace, Radioman2 |

Hello Radioman, The New Living Translation does no justice to this verse of Eph.2:8-9. Here is the MKJV Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. The King James Version tells us that we are saved by grace through faith. The NLT says nothing about faith. And we all know that faith without works is dead. I agree that we cant boast in the fact that we somehow obtained salvation. I beleive that every man will be a sinner on judgment day. Not one person more guilty than the next. Gods mercy will save whomever he wills to save. We are just clay he is the potter. But wishful thinking and saying that you said the sinners prayer as fire insurance. And even living for Christ for a season but then dought that there even is a God later. Because its been so long and he hasnt come back yet. Chosing to deny the Holy Ghost is unpardonable. All sin will be forgiven. But denying God with are unfaithfulness and are evil works speak louder than words. And will not be forgiven. Your friend MaTT |
