A father is the one with authority ... he disciplines, also shows compassion, care, protection, and is the provider. But, is there intimacy? I think only when we add Abba. I think of Esther ... when she approached the throne, it wasn't as the king's wife (where there is intamacy), but as a subject, even as a queen (Esther 4:11-5:3). While there are times of intamcy with God, we MUST remember of the positional differences. |
