All Christians must stand before the judgment seat of Christ (Rom_14:10, 2Co_5:10). Salvation is grace thru faith, apart from works (Eph_2:8-9). However, we may receive a greater or less reward, according to our works for Christ. Our reward will be according to what we have done and also the intent of our heart (2Co_5:10). That is the meaning of us giving an account of ourselves to God here in Rom_14:12. Paul was addressing the problem of us standing in judgement of others. When we are standing before the judgement seat of Christ, we will not give an account for others, and others will not give an account of us. Heb_6:10 says "For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister." Remember, the purpose of us standing before the judgment seat of Christ is so God can REWARD us, not judge us. Jesus Saves, retxar |
