VDavis, In context Paul is saying that God will not revoke His covenant promises to Israel for the sake of the patriarchs with whom he made the coevenants. In Romans 11:28-32Paul is saying that god can make good come from evil (the Gentiles called by the Gospel because the Jews rejected in disobedience) and even more will then use their disobedience as an oppourtunity for Him to show Isreal mercy yet again, even as He has shown the Gentiles mercy in calling them. Isreal as a coporate body is His elect and they will not be unelected. Emmaus |
