1 | How can Christians listen to this? | Acts 5:34 | EdB | 7529
I have a question or concern that goes with this thread. Why do people so easily accept the false as truth? As I have said I have seen men teach heresy but use the name of Jesus frequently and have people accept them as men of God. I have asked a listener that was enthralled with such a speaker about what he said and even after showing them the error that he taught, I had them defend and deny that it was so. They either say, “Well I didn’t hear him say that.” Or they say, “He really didn’t mean it that way, you took what he said wrong.” I know genuine Christians that can listen to junk and never hear it. How does that happen? If you question them as to whether they believe a particular falsehood they will instantly say no, yet they just listened to a speaker preach it and they love him. How can that be? |

2 | How can Christians listen to this? | Acts 5:34 | jim | 7544
There are many gifted speakers and only God knows why they say and do as they do. Some seems to think we must entertain God and God knows true worship. Jesus told woman the day will come when the Father seeks those to worship in Spirit and in Truth John 4:23-24 and i take this verse in 1 Cor 14:29 tells us we are allowed to judge what is said Keep Worship and Praise alive in your heart Jim

4 | Interesting answer any other thoughts? | Acts 5:34 | jim | 7579
I always let the Bible do the talking and i try to listen. 2 Tim tells us what is going to take place and maybe that is now. We must all decide for ourselves. We must all stand one day before God and give answer for our deeds in the flesh. Seek truth and Obey when it is revealed. Thanks Jim
5 | Is it just charisma? | Acts 5:34 | EdB | 7582
I guess what I was hoping for was a response that would focus on the charisma of man. It seems lately people are taken with the charm of the man rather than what he really says or does. We have elevated pastors and evangelist to celebrity status and therefore put them above common scrutiny. Could this be the reason we so readily accept their theatrics and never challenge their teachings?
6 | Is it just charisma? | Acts 5:34 | jim | 7583
I don't go much for charisma or Hollywood. I love for a man to teach and preach the Word and let the people decide. I should be able to question if i desired and i know that is not common but anymore i will check out each teacher i listen too. I don't listen to too many and never watch any on tv. I'm mostly from the old school where you could trust what a person would tell you. These days i check it out myself. Watch, Listen and Stay alert in these Last Days. Jesus will be back after His Church. Thanks for input. Jim
7 | Any deceptions stories out there? | Acts 5:34 | EdB | 7590
Jim you absolutely right we must check out everything we hear. I'm interested in hearing from people that have experience this deception first hand. I want to know what tried to deceived them, how they realized they had been deceived and what they are now doing to prevent it from happening again. |

8 | Any deceptions stories out there? | Acts 5:34 | jim | 7594

9 | Is there anyone else who has input? | Acts 5:34 | EdB | 7597
Jim thanks for responding your input is important but I kind of figured that you would not have been deceived. I was interested in possibly getting somebody else's responses. |

10 | Is there anyone else who has input? | Acts 5:34 | Searcher56 | 7699
Jim is correct. There are those who decieve without knowing it. For example, most of the church teaches wrongly about worship. They misdefine worship. They may not know any better - but, I do share what I see the Bible says about worship. There is also a case where a preacher was counselling a married man and his finace about their wedding plans ... even after I pointed out his error. I told him that God hates divorce and remmariage will result in aduletry. He should of been counslling the man and his wife to remain married. BTW, he called my father who said I was right and he was wrong. He was decieving himself and others. |

11 | Tell me more about your worship | Acts 5:34 | EdB | 7702
Steve wow! You have my interest what do you mean by your statement, “For example, most of the church teaches wrongly about worship. They misdefine worship.”? Maybe we want to take that part of the discussion to another thread but I sure would like to know exactly what your referring to here. Second part you said you found a minister counseling a married man and his fiancé on their upcoming wedding. You infer the Pastor mistakenly thought it was okay. Steve if you find a minister who is counseling a married man and another woman on marriage I think you can safely say the minister either knows exactly what he is doing or he was too stupid to be a Pastor. Nobody that has ever read the Bible can be that ignorant of God’s thoughts on the subject. I think the fact he called someone else to verify what you had told him proves the latter. I’m not be mean here just honest, if the man didn’t know that what he was doing was against everything God intended marriage to be, he was way to stupid to be allowed to pastor a church. Tell me more about your ideas on worship |

12 | Tell me more about your worship | Acts 5:34 | Searcher56 | 7712
On worship - I will start a new thread. On the Pastor - he tied to jutify himslef by saying the marriage was over. I believe he knew I was telling the truth, as well as my father. Therefore, I consider him a deciever, and not stupid. |

13 | Tell me more about your worship | Acts 5:34 | EdB | 7724
Let's say he was stupid thinking he could justify what he was doing in any way.
