Hello Grace and Truth Again you avoid revealed inconsistency and shift the conversation. But to answer you concerning Col 2:12-13--the context is plainly the spiritual work accomplished in us. Therefore the baptism spoken of is Holy Spirit baptism. You have sufficiently proved your true self as one preaching another gospel. This discussion is over. Steve |

If you understood Holy Spirit baptism, you wouldn't speak another word! Holy Spirit baptism happened only two times in the book of Acts, chapters 2,10 and no other place! But let you tell it, it happen all over the bible! When the light shines darkness will flee!
3 | Luke 7:29-30? | Acts 2:38 | Morant61 | 50776
Greetings Grace and Truth! Only two times in Acts? 1) Acts 2:4 - "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." 2) Acts 2:38 - "Peter replied, ‘‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”" 3) Acts 4:31 - "After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly." 4) Acts 8:15 - "When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." 5) Acts 9:17 - " Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, ‘‘Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”" 6) Acts 10:44 - "While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, 47 ‘‘Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”" 7) Acts 19:1 - "While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, ‘‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, ‘‘No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”" - Acts 19:6 - "When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied." It seems that the Baptism of the Spirit occurred more than twice and was promised to all who believe (Acts 2:38-39). Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

6 | Luke 7:29-30? | Acts 2:38 | Grace and Truth | 51015
God is the one who allowed the apostles to lay hands on people to recieve the Holy Spirit, the reciever had no power to lay hands on anyone else. Without laying on of hands happened only twice, the day of Pentecost, and the house of Cornelius! The house of Cornelius is when the gentiles recieved the grace of God. Today no one has that power! And those who teach other wise are wrong in doing so. |

Greetings Grace and Truth! Thanks for your response my friend! Of course, you know what I'm going to ask next, right? Where is the Scripture which teachs what you just said? There is not a single Scriture which distiguishes between the Baptism of the Holy Spirit received without the laying on of hands and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit received with the laying on of hands. In fact, the only requirement listed in Acts 2:38 is repentance. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Greetings Grace and Truth! I understand that laying on of hands is mentioned in these two passages, but what Scripture teaches that there is a difference between the Gift of the Spirit received in the one way as opposed to the other? Where is the Scripture which says that only the Apostles could lay hands on people and they would receive the Holy Spirit? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
