Hello Grace and Truth I've never heard that question asked before of this verse. I would say he told the truth. Of course, my understanding of the verse is that Peter was not connecting repentance with water baptism for salvation. Rather he was using a nuance of speech that the Jews would have readily understood--repentance first, then baptism as a demonstration. Steve |
