1 | Can Rapture Really Take Place...? | Acts 2:20 | Ify-J | 32879
RAPTURE. A term describing ascension into the sky to meet Christ (though the not really in the scripture as rapture) as seen in “1 Thess 4:17” for sometimes now had brought up great arguments even in the Christendom. While some say it will never happen as the early Christians expected it to have taken place in their own time but it never did. Others claim that it is the same thing as the second coming of Christ. To my own view I see these views as misconception. I think the early Christians got themselves ready hoping to see Christ one day before the die therefore leaving their lives according to the laid down principles of God in the Old and New Testaments so that the event will not come upon them unaware. This I believe is the right way to live as Christians. We must be very ready for Christ just as they did in those days. You will agree with me sir that the zeal in serving the Lord now is not what is used to be some decades ago in your youthful days. Secondly, I think the rapture is quite different from the second coming of Christ. I will therefore want you to give more light on this very important topic stating the signs to observe for the second coming of Christ if any. Ify |

2 | Can Rapture Really Take Place...? | Acts 2:20 | CDBJ | 32894
The actual word rapture isn't used in Scripture but the concept of being caught up is. There are many verses in the Bible that convey the concept of what has come down to us as a word of accommodation and it lumps it all together as the rapture. 2 Thes. 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. What a lot of believers fail to recognize is the fact that when Jesus removes His church from the Earth that he will clobber those that are left behind on the same day. There isn't a time period per say for those left behind to make a decision for Christ. Look what precedes the last verse. In flaming fire doesn't sound like a second chance to me, coupled with everlasting destruction, the word (when), signifies the time of this action. 2 Thes. 1:6-10 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Most all believers are quick to quote the verse that say, of Christ return, that He will come like a thief in the night, but fail to realize that this is only speaking of those not looking for him. He won't come as thief to those who know what to look for. 1 Thes. 5:1-4 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. There are two groups mentioned here, (they) unbelievers, and (you) believers. Christ explained the same situation and gave us an illustration in Matthew. Matthew 24:36-39 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Notice it say that this all happened the same day the Noe entered into the ark. The day that the Lord lifts us up He is going to clobber those left behind. The same thing happened to Lot. Luke 17:28-29 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Do you see anything familiar in this example; the same day? As soon as lot was removed BANG, God clobbered them. So many Christians are saying that we don't know the day or the hour of Christ return, which is true. But the Bible sure predicts that things that will be taking place just before He comes. The Bible says that we will not know the exact day or hour but we will know the times and season by the events taking place. There are signs a plenty for us mentioned in the Bible to watch for. Anyone that tries to say that we won't know the season is falling under the guidelines of being deceived by someone. Matthew 24:3-4 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Paul also says that there may be those that try to deceive us. They may even be well meaning believers within our own ranks that have twisted Scripture around because it sounds nicer to them or more pleasant to the hearers. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; I don't see any doctrin to back up a false hope for those left behind!
