1 | Thanks for the answer | Acts 1:9 | johnboy36 | 190373 | ||
Thanks Brad, although I don't think I need to replicate my birth to scientifically prove it took place. There is overwhelming evidence that it did. For instance first hand accounts of living people (my parents, medical staff etc), testable and measurable evidence such as my DNA fingerprint which proves I am a decendant of both of my parents and also the total absence of any evidence to support an alternative theory of how i came to be on this planet. If I try apply these methods of testing to my original question "How did Jesus ascend into heaven" i find that i cannot. I therefore conclude that Jesus did not ascend into heaven. It's just a made up story. |

"When you come to knowing God, the initiative lies on His side. If He does not show Himself, nothing you can do will enable you to find Him. And, in fact, He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others - not because He has favourites, but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition. Just as sunlight, thought it has no favourites, cannot be reflected in a dusty mirror as clearly as in a clean one." "You can put this another way by saying that while in other sciences the instruments you use are things external to yourself (things like microscopes and telescopes), the instrument throught which you see God is your whole self. And if a man's self is not kept clean and bright, his glimpse of God will be blurred..." - C.S. Lewis |

Azure, Well stated dear sister. Jeremiah 29:11-13, Acts 17:27-30. Some folks think they know better than God and will fall back on science to prove it. Man somehow thinks that that he's gotta have some kind of explanation to prove the reality and truth of God and His Word. If left to our own devices nothing but our own futility will ever be revealed. Yet people will keep trying and failing of course. Hebrews 12:1 tells us we have all the evidence we need. The proof is right before our eyes as God intended it to be. With adherence to 2 Timothy 2:15 and Ephesians 2:8. With this we already have more answers than any scientific theory or philosophy will ever provide. Hebrews 11:6 is the bottom line. Without faith nothing gets accomplished. People can really simplify things if they will but go into things with a 2 Timothy 2:25 mindset. Have a blessed One sis. In Him, lionheart |

Dear Brother Lionheart, Thanks for your kind words and your scriptural supplement to my note. Somehow, I wonder is it sensible for a person to argue on something that he does not think it exist. Shalom Azure |

Azure, Gods day dearest sister. I couldn't agree with you more. But were any of us sensible before we became disciples. We tend to place so much credence in what we see with our eyes that we can forget or discount everything else. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 Paul even tells us that we walk by faith not by sight. There is so much more and if we don't look beyond what we think or don't think we will never fully realise God's incredible plan for our life. If one takes 2 Timothy 3:16,17 to heart it know longer become a question of existence but of faith. And faith one can do, because when one has faith then the possibilties open up and the deepest thoughts and desires of the heart are brought to light. Gods Best to you, lionheart |
