Greetings and welcome to the Forum! At least 16 were gathered. The Bible specifically names the 11 disciples and Mary, the mother of Jesus. Women and Jesus' brothers are plural, so we know that there were at least 4 others. Is this significant? I would say yes, for the church is made of of people we know and those we don't. The important point is that everyone there was united in their faith in Christ. (And what a mixed bag that must have been when you consider the backgrounds of some!) I suggest that the fact that they were unified in their faith and responding in continual prayer is an example that the church should aspire to today. Blessings, mommapbs |
