1 | Maybe some are not really saved? | Acts 16:1 | Searcher56 | 173315
Scripture Romans 10:9-10 "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation" ... God's day to you, CDBJ, One of my fears is that people believe they believe/ think they are saved because of what they have been taught ... even beyond "works" and "heritage" (Phi 3:5-7) … it is ideas of saying a prayer, coming forward, or other external actions is what saves. While we do need to “confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord” … are we taught what confession is and Lordship … beyond the words? I think we need to “believe in your heart” first, else the words are empty. Methinks people don’t explain this fully either … and some want numbers. I think many will be the ones who Christ does not know (Mat 7:21-23), because they were mistaught and they did not check out Scripture to see if what they heard lines up (Act 7:14). Yes, there are other Scriptures ... even in Romans, where it talks about whose slave we are. Searcher |

Hi Searcher; I realize what that verse says, but have you ever wondered as a result of that verse that a mute couldn’t be saved? Something must be lacking in that verse because we know that isn’t the case. Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. CDBJ |

I could say the mute can use their mouth, even if we hear nothing ... however, as with other actions, like worship/ bow, walk, hear ... God somehow works it out so those cannot use their mouth do to a physical limitation to be saved, if they believe.
