What makes you think I don't hug the truths to me? I do! However, I'm to thick headed. I need the reminders. Interestingly enough, I'm just to a chapter in my bible study group about Love. Specifically obedient love of the Lord. Large chunk of it is on sin and the avoiding of it. I'll throw out a question and I'm sorry to hear you're leaving! I'll wait for your return! I had trouble with this: What blessings of obedience have you experienced in your life and in the lives of others? I know it's awful to answer a question with a question but - How can we know exactly WHY we receive a blessing? The only thing I could really think of was the time I was driven to give a semi-stranger (the girl who sells me coffee in the morning) a bible I had gotten as a free gift for joining a book club. My blessing would be the tremendous JOY I felt afterwards!!! Am I taking this too literally? Lisa |

Anwer to Question (I think) ................... Dear Lisa, I must admit that I had a somewhat difficult time understanding your last post. I think that you meant to ask if I had ever had an experience where I obeyed God and received a blessing as a result. I think that this happens all the time (even when we don't recognize the blessing right away). However, one time that comes to mind is the verse in the Bible that commands believers to "not stop meeting together". I interpret this verse to be God's way of telling us that, as Christians, we need each other's fellowship. This is why I feel that it is so important to regularly attend church and to not just sit in a service once a week, but to truly participate in worship and fellowship there with other Christians. So I have obiediently gone to church for many years now, and not just the morning service, but the evening service as well. So where does the blessing come in this obedience? Well it just so happens that at one of these evening services at my church, I met my future wife. And she has been the biggest blessing (besides salvation) that God has ever given me :) |

Hello Sir Pent! and thanks for responding. I really was taking the question too literally. During our bible study most of the ladies answered simply with Peace. Peace is the blessing for obedience to God. You gave an excellent response. I love going to church. Nothing could be more delightful! Hope your holiday was grand! Lisa |
