1 | Does God hear the prayers of the lost? | Acts 10:4 | xmikx | 149201
Does the Bible mention God not hearing the prayers of the lost? I know He hears the prayer of salvation from the lost, but what about a lost person "praying" for her dad who is real sick with cancer? My wife and I are trying to witness to her friend. She is not yet saved, but is asking the "why" and "how come" questions that lead to the prayer of salvation. She says she is "praying", but I am not sure what the Bible says about prayer from someone who is not yet saved. Please provide scripture so we can show her. Then when she gets saved, her prayers for her dad will be heard and answered. Please and thank you. Mike |

Scripture ... Prov 15:29, Acts 10:4 ... Mike, Be careful when you answer this question. Don'y give them false hope and don't offend. If you read Acts 10:4, it may appear that God answers all prayers. Read the context of the whole chapter and see that Cornelius was praying about being saved. There are others who pray that God sends someone to show them how to be saved. The eunch in Acts 8 may have prayed this, as well. Balance this with Proverbs 15:29. Becoming (or being) a Christian doesn't mean God will answer yes. His answer may be no or wait. Hope this helped you, Searcher |

3 | Does God hear the prayers of the lost? | Acts 10:4 | xmikx | 149203
Thanks for the scripture. Last Sunday's message at church was about prayer and how God gives four different answeres to prayer: 1. no 2. not yet 3. not that way 4. yes. So I am aware that God answers all prayer, but the answer is not always what we want. And I am very glad that God is in control and not me. Thanks again. |

Hi, xmikx! Remember, however, that there are some Scriptures that mention that God not hearing some prayer. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: (Psalms 66:18) 6Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. (Jeremiah 11:11) Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer. (Lamentations 3:8) Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but He will not hear them: He will even hide His face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. (Micah 3:4) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. (James 1:6-7) In Him, Doc |

Thank you all for the information. All of these verses have been very helpful. My wifes friend (Kim) still has not accepted the greatest gift, but we will not give up. Mike |
