1 | Cornelius and Acts 10:30 | Acts 10:30 | rstrats | 242239 | ||
Let's say it had been a Thursday when Cornelius said - "Four days ago I was fasting until this hour...". To what day of the week would he have been referring if he had said "One day ago I was fasting until this hour"? |

Ah I think I ran into a trap. 4 days would have been Sunday. Okay lets try it this way Sunday Cornelius was praying Acts 10:1-3 Monday he sets his men off to find Peter Verse 8. Verse 9 on the next day as they were approaching the city Peter had his vision which would be Tuesday. It is a one day trip. Verse 23 they stay over night. Wednesday morning they leave for Cornelius and Thursday they arrived. Cornelius says 4 days ago I was praying. How is that? The problem is we don't know what day Cornelius sent his men Verse 8 and we don't know if there may have been a time lapse between verse 16 and 17. I think my corrected above scenario is the probably what happened. |

EdB re: "...we don't know if there may have been a time lapse between verse 16 and 17." If the translation "4 days ago" is correct then there would have to be an extra unmentioned day involved. It might be interesting to note, though, that at least 5 translations/versions say "3 days ago". |
