1 | Jesus has two nature but yet he is one. | John 4:24 | mark d seyler | 163694
Hi ItsMe, This passage, from Luke's gospel, is from after Jesus' resurrection: Luke 24:36-43 (36) As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace to you!" (37) But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. (38) And he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? (39) See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." (40) And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. (41) And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?" (42) They gave him a piece of broiled fish, (43) and he took it and ate before them. Jesus said and did these things to prove to His disciples that He had not become a spirit, but that He was still a man. According to Jesus, "a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." He even ate food to prove it. After Jesus was glorified, He regained His divine nature, that He left to be born a baby (Phil. 2), but never did He leave His humanity. Consider, when Jesus died, as when we die, it is the body that dies, the spirit does not die. Therefore, when Jesus was resurrected, it was not a "spiritual resurrection", but was a physical resurrection. Jesus returned to life in His physical, human body. That is why the tomb was empty. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |

2 | Jesus has two nature but yet he is one. | John 4:24 | ItsMe | 163696
I got your note twice. I agree. I see nothing with this post that I don't agree with. I assume that He didn't leave behind his physical body until He went up into heaven after this? |

3 | Jesus has two nature but yet he is one. | John 4:24 | mark d seyler | 163698
Hi ItsMe, Sorry about the duplication! My computer told me that there was a server error, so I submitted it again, only to find out they both went through! :-) We're simply told He ascended into heaven (Acts 1). He never left His body, else His detractors would have pointed to it, to say, there, He's dead. An amazing thing is that there is a Man sitting on the throne of God! Love in Christ, Mark |

4 | Jesus has two nature but yet he is one. | John 4:24 | ItsMe | 163723
I understand the duplication. I did it on this site myself once. I'm still confused at the belief that there is a "human" being my present Saviour and God. I suppose it isn't a salvation issue, just one I can't see. |

5 | Jesus has two nature but yet he is one. | John 4:24 | mark d seyler | 163732
Hi ItsMe, Colossians 2:9 says "For in him (Jesus) the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily," This was written after Jesus' resurrection and ascention. Deut. 4:24 says the LORD is a consuming fire. In Exodus 33:20. God tells Moses "Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live." Job lays ahold of this truth in his desire to be right with God, recognizing that "there is no mediator between us, who might lay his hand on both of us." (9:33) Jesus, as both God and Man, can do that. As man, He has the right of redemption, because our Redeemer has to be a near kinsman, and as God, He has the ability to redeem us, because the redeemer has to be able to afford the price. We do not always understand how these things can be, but we recognize that this is what the Bible teaches. And so we walk in the truth, and in this, God blesses us, and gives us greater understanding. There are things we probibly will not understand so long as we live in this world. It is enough to believe what the Bible says. Most things, I think, we will understand. Once again, I reduced myself to rambling! :-) I hope at least some of this has helped! Love in Christ, Mark |

6 | Jesus,two natures? | John 4:24 | lionheart | 163735
Mark, Goodmorning brother. This is strictly for clarification on my part,so I dont wind up sticking my foot in my mouth.I know that we deal with two natures the Christ in us and our old man,I know that Christ was tempted in every manner that we are. I know that the bible says that he became sin who knew no sin.I understand that. Could you clarify a little what we refer to when someone speeks Jesus and two natures? I want to make sure I'm not out in the twilight zone with this one. In Christ, lionheart |
