1 | Do we worship (proskuneo) today? | John 4:23 | Searcher56 | 63548 | ||
Is there a time gap between the "now is" and "an hour is coming"? Does anyone know the Greek construct? Does it help? I ask because after the Gospels, worship only appears four times, until Revelation, where it occurs 11. Searcher |

Searcher: Hi brother. Now your question is a good one. I will do my best for you. Under PROSKUNEO in the New Testament here are the verses it is used in. As homage or reverence, Matt. 4:10; John 4:21 to 24; 1 Cor. 14:25;.To Christ,eg., John 9:38; Heb. 1:6 quotes from Sept. Deut. 31:43, referring to Christ' Second Advent; (c) to man, Matt. 18:26;. This comes exactilly from VINES EXPOSITARY DICTIONARY OF NEW TESTAMENT WORDS. PAGE 1247. I hope this helps you in some way. I barely make it in english say nothing of greek, but VINES on the other hand is an very good reference. justme |
