1 | jcsav, Why is order "water ... Spirit" | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147079
1 Peter 3:21, "The like figure where unto even baptism doth also NOW SAVES US......by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Col 2:12, "Buried with him in BAPTISM; wherein also ye are risen with him through FAITH of THE OPERRATION OF GOD, who raised him from the dead. Also, (Rom 6:4). Now, tell me why this is not a part of the Gospel message defind in 1Cor 15:1-4. There is no reason to believe that Nicodemus view of water baptism, was any different from any other Pharisee of that day. They understood that there was one to come that would Baptise, not only the coverts (which was common for the Jews to do in that day. But also the Jews themselves. That is why they question John the Baptist as to why he was baptising (the Jews). Jews views on Baptism was not influenced by Near Eastern thought. We give them way to little credit when it comes to their understanding of Scripture. That is why Jesus was able to silence them. Now, we have endless back and forward arguing. All because of this lack of knowledge. |

First that was in the order that Jesus said it. It was the order in which Peter said it in Acts 2:38. Acts 8 the eunch was baptised with water before he received the Holy Ghost. Otherwise Phillp statement in verse 37, would have been necessary. Acts 8:16 "For he had not yet fallen upon any of them, but they had only been baptized into the name of Jesus Christ. That is also the order that it is Preached in our Churches. Rarely do God fill them first. But that is entirely in His control.

I have fullfilled Acts 2:38 so I must know how it goes. I don't know where you got your information from. But it is wrong. But I would rejoice if the Lord baptised You with His Spirit, before you get Baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin. But if Peter (or I) was you Preacher, when he heard you speak in tongues. It's to the Water, you would be going. And if I am not mistaken. He would not ask you, either.
