Hi Damondash, This is the first time for writting on this forum and would like to add to Brad's response. I feel like you, that it's important to know how God feels about us. But no matter how unlovable or worthless we may think we are, God asures us that each of his faithful servants is of value to him. Think about Jesus’ words at Matthew 10:29-31. Speaking of the worth of his disciples, Jesus said: “Do not two sparrows sell for a coin of small value? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore have no fear: you are worth more than many sparrows.” Maybe those birds were worthless in the eyes of men, but how did our Creator view them? Jesus said: “Not one of them goes foregotten before God.” Now we start to see Jesus’ point. Since Jehovah places such value on a single sparrow, of how much greater worth is a human! of how much greater worth are you! As Jesus said, God knows every detail about us. Why, the very hairs of our head are numbered! But when we sin, the dissappointment, shame, and guilt that we feel could cause us to think that we could never be worthy of God's love and his favor. But Psalm 86:5 tells us that he is “ready to forgive.” So, if we repent of our sins and work hard not to repeat them, we will enjoy forgiveness. I hope you find comfort from these Bible verses. Hello Kathy, Welcome to the Forum. You stated, "So, if we repent of our sins and work hard not to repeat them, we will enjoy forgiveness." Where do we find this in scripture? Does not Eph. 1:7 explicitly say, "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace" (NASB) (Also, cf. Eph. 4:32, Col. 2:13, 3:13) If you don't mind me asking, I read your profile and noticed your use of "Jehovah" and that (one of) your Bible versions is the New World Translation! Are you also a member of the Watchtower Organization? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
