1 | Am I once and forever saved? | John 3:16 | DAIRYLEADER5 | 85465
Hi john; your right its hard to tell weather he was saved in the first place or not, but with his Pastor and mother telling him he is ok doing these things it makes it harder. In Heb. 6;4 thru 6, it tells us 1. that it is possible to become lost again because of our falling away, to renew them again into repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. If im not mistaken Paul said Let no man steel your crown. Please keep my frend gene in prayer . DL5

Dear DL5, Tell me...How should I pray? If your interpretation of Heb 6 is true, then it is impossible to restore your friend. He is forever lost! Heb 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. In my view however, he sounds like the man in Matt 13:20,21: "The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. I believe it is God who is faithful the faithful One, while we are the ones who are prone to wander. Phil 3:3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, John 6:39 "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. John 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:54 "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. I hope this helps. John |

Just as you said, if he was saved in the first place. The point is ,that if we tell young converts that it ok now to do what ever you want to do, because your saved where is their reason to follow Jesus at all. Heb. cpt 6 tells us something of a reason Christians should not apostatize. The dictionary states that apostasy is; an abandoning of what one believed. You can find God telling us about this from Matthew thru Rev. If it were not posible to lose our salvation, why would the Bible war us about it.My frend is in need of help , if he wasnt saved he needs the Holy Spirit to guide him back to the truth.
