Subject: Am I once and forever saved? |
Bible Note: Dear DL5, Tell me...How should I pray? If your interpretation of Heb 6 is true, then it is impossible to restore your friend. He is forever lost! Heb 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. In my view however, he sounds like the man in Matt 13:20,21: "The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. I believe it is God who is faithful the faithful One, while we are the ones who are prone to wander. Phil 3:3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, John 6:39 "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. John 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:54 "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. I hope this helps. John |
