The phrase "which is in heaven" is included in the King James version but not in the NAS version. Why is this and what does the phrase mean? | ||||||

HCW If you read the preface to most NASB you will find an explanation of why some verses and words are changed. Basically it comes down to which text the Bible was translated from. KJV was translated from a text called Textus Receptus. However since that text was compiled older manuscripts were found that are thought to be more accuracy so they were used in the translation of the NASB. In each case where words are changed or omitted Lockman Foundation has provided footnotes to documanet what was done and why. Look in your Bible and follow the footnote for the explanation EdB |

HCW Do some searches using the search function to the right. Search on keywords of "Textus Receptus" or "TR and NASB" or "Bible Translations". These subjects have been extensively discussed and you will find those threads that contain these discussions. They should answer all your questions.
