For one area, try John 1:2,3 vs. 2. The same [Jesus] was in the beginning with God. vs. 3. All things were made by him [Jesus]; and without him [Jesus] was not any thing made that was made. Other Bibles mention all things were made through him [Jesus]. Here is the process, as follows: From God, through Jesus, creation is made. The Moffatt translation says it nicely, as follows: vs. 2 ...through him [Jesus] all existence came into being, no existence came into being apart from him. This verse shows Jesus working in co-ordination with his Father, Jesus using the enabling power of the Holy Spirit provided by God. |

Greetings Welsh! You said: "However, the words "WAS GOD" need the qualification of other scriptures to help realize that the WORD as being GOD is in the sense of Jesus having all the divine fullness of God given to him by his Father. Jesus is the preimminent representation of God." Exactly where in Scripture does it say that all of the "divine fullness" was given to Jesus? John 1:1 makes the exact opposite point! He always was God. There never was a time when He wasn't God. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
