2 | Mumbo jumbo? | John 1:1 | CDBJ | 56744 | ||
Hi Kalos, I must admit that a lot from Strong is Greek to me, but in looking up the meaning of mumbo jumbo in my dictionary, this is what I came up with. Afr. orig.: meaning, form, and dialect uncert. 1. among certain West African tribes, an idol or god believed to protect the people from evil and terrorize the women into subjection. I don't think that the term mombo jumbo comes from any verses that I have read in any of the Bibles that I use. That seems like a strangs term to use, coming from a person who only wants Scripture.
