1 | THE MOST POWERFUL VERSE IN EVANGELISM | John 12:32 | Hank | 88728
Tim H. -- In John 12:32 Jesus said, "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." In verse 33 John interprets verse 32: "But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die." That kind of death was, of course, His being lifted up from the earth to the cross on which He suffered, shed His blood and gave His life. It can hardly be said that those who lifted Him up to be crucified then were His followers or that those who rejoice in crucifying Christ spiritually are His followers now. We most emphatically do not need to spend more time lifting up Jesus in the sense of John 12:32! This is a textbook example of how precarious it is to lift a passage of Scripture out of its natural context and draw conclusions from a text so extracted. Another example is your eisegesis of Acts 19:2 which you continue to argue contrary to the exegesis which I suggested to you yesterday. Tim, it is both dangerous and irresponsible for any of us to base doctrine on any isolated verse of Scripture. This practice can lead to all sorts of strange beliefs and practices. If you pull Genesis 6:14 out of context, you will find yourself going to the lumber yard in search of some gopher wood with which to build yourself an ark! Perhaps you should avail yourself of a reliable study Bible. Ask your pastor to recommend one. I'd be happy to recommend two or three to you if you wish. Friend, it is by no means my intent to discourage you in any way in your walk with the Lord, but I'm merely putting forth a suggestion to you to be careful about taking verses out of context and, even worse, posting your ill-informed conclusions on the forum where you may unwittingly mislead others. If you don't know the scriptural answer to a question, don't answer it. If you don't understand a precept or a passage, ask about it! Blessings to you. --Hank

I am sorry that you do not see this scripture as It has been revieled to me, I operate in it's spiritual power every day. The word that I have posted on the forum is the truth as it has been revield by the Spirit to me, I am not saying I have no error in my life, I am submitted to God and he will lead me into his truth. Just because you do not understand it, does not mean I am wrong! Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: Numbers 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. 5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. As we lift up Jesus Christ from the earth, people look at him and are healed. People of this world including believers are looking at their problems and thereby being devoured and killed by snakes (problems of this world), if they will look to Jesus high and lifted up they will be healed. Look to Jesus not the problems of this world. (Poisonous snakes) My heart pours out to those who do not believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, tongs, , the gifts, miracles, and God actually speaking to us through the Spirit. MY PRAYER FOR YOU IS THAT YOU FIND THE WONDERFUL LIBERTY WE HAVE IN CHRIST JESUS AND THAT HE GIVE UNTO YOU THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION TO COMPREHEND THE HEIGHT, DEPTH AND WITH OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD! Eph 1:17 My prayer also is that everyone reading this will pray for me to further be revealed the truth from the Spirit of God. Love, Tim Hines |

Tim, if John 12:32 was "revealed" to you as you have interpreted it, why is your interpretation different from what God revealed about its true meaning in John 12:33? --Hank

Moses lifteed up the serpent in the wilderness, Jesus was lifted up on a cross and died for the sins of all mankind. DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST PRAISING GOD FOR SENDING JESUS CHRIST TO DIE AND SHED HIS BLOOD ON THE CROSS, PROCLAMING IT TO THE WORLD? WHEN I DO THIS PEOPLE ARE DRAWN TO GOD. TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT! LOVE. TIM |

5 | THE MOST POWERFUL VERSE IN EVANGELISM | John 12:32 | Hank | 88749
No need to shout, Tim. I hear you fine without that. You ask (shout), "Do you have something against praising God for sending Jesus to die and shed His blood on the cross?" Tim, if you had really read any of my posts -- more than 3,000 of them on this forum -- you would know better than to ask me such an absurd question. What I do have "something against" is reading such a blatant mis-interpretation of John 12:32 such as you have given. So please come down from your ill-equipped pedantic aerie and pay attention to what you are asked and how you respond. It is remotely possible you may learn something by studying more and saying less. :-) --Hank

Hank I perceive you are a man puffed up in your human understanding of the word. The greatest thing you have accomplished is insulting me and my walk and tried to intimidate me. You have missed the point and due to the fact that you seem only interested in shutting me up and insulting me, I believe it has come time to part ways. Nothing you have said to me has been Spiritually edifying. I have tried to offer edification on a scripture I believe very strongly on. You have rejected it. The letter killeth but the Spirit givith life. As far as studying the word I no of no one that studies more. Thank you! I pray that you find the truth, I hope you do the same for me! Tim |

Hello Tim, Please don't berate Hank. He has demonstrated his wisdom and right dividing of the Word. It is when our Lord Jesus allowed Himself to be lifted up that He was able to draw men to Himself. We lift Him up in a different way-- by exalting His person and work in worship and praise. The two are not related. Steve |
