1 | Where was Lazarus for 4 days? | John 11:11 | Ray | 57683 | ||
Hi danieln, I believe that when one discusses the Spirit and spiritual things, that attention must be given to capitalization. John 16:13, "But when He, the Spirit/ of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on (His) own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." John 4:25, "The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming, (He/ who is called Christ); when that One comes, (He) will declare all things to us." May the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth. Sure Ray, that sounds fair enough. I shall endeavor to be less sloppy when writing about such things. daniel |

Hi danieln, I am glad that you took my post in the spirit that it was given. For I did not mean to find fault but merely wanted to make the point. Many times we might get lazy and not use the shift key, or sometimes we might not be thinking in lines of capitalization. Or sometimes we may not know which is correct, spirit or Spirit, in the Scriptures. I know that my personal copy with its choices, is not in ink yet. A lot is penciled in. But in any case we all have to be ready to make clear what we mean and what our capitalization choices are. One choice of "holy spirit" for me would be Romans 5:5, for instance. Or Titus 3:5. Romans 5:5, "and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God HAS BEEN POURED OUT within our hearts through the *holy *spirit who was given to us." Titus 3:5, "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the *holy *spirit, whom [which] He POURED OUT upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." However, this should be another thread. Perhaps other verses come to mind, which are more appropriate for the study at hand. 1 Peter 3:18 just came to my mind. Which do you go with, spirit or Spirit?
