1 | once saved always saved? | John 10:28 | Progolfer190 | 208666 | ||
Bowler, Sorry it has been so long. To clarify what I meant to say. I believe that there are people who ask Jesus to come into their lives and really don't mean it. They just do that on a whim. Lets take this person that just asked Jesus to come into their heart and they just did it because their friends did it. We don't know that though. For all we know he is really asking Jesus to come into his heart. They don't do anything for the rest of there lives that shows that they are a christian and they openly say that they don't believe in a God. Now this person dies just like that. Just before they die they tell everyone that there is no God and that they don't believe in one. Now for all your knowledge this person asked Jesus to come into their life. You don't know that if they actually did it or not. Now I would say that this person has "lost there faith." From what I know about the once saved always saved they would believe that that person never had the faith. That is what I am trying to say. I think that we just have different ways of saying the same thing. Neither one of us will truly know if that person was truly saved until we get to Heaven and see that they are there. All we can really do is make sure our hearts are prepared and try to get others to follow. God Bless |

Progolfer190 Looking at the question, "can we lose our salvation?" There are other things given to us, at the same time that explain why you cannot lose it. 1) Eternal life, "can we lose eternal life?" John 10:28 28) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 2) We were given the Holy Spirit, which signifies the promise of God, until our Redemption, So we cannot lose our salvation, on the grounds, Jesus Paid the full price for us, which was DEATH! We have become a Purchased Possession. "Who can take us from his hand?" Eph.1:13,14 13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. 3) If all of that is not enough, this one should be. Rom. 8:38,39 38) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
