1 | Japanese's suicide is brave and honor | John 10:18 | Ivory313 | 81839
Many famous Japanese author commit suicide at the highest point in their life to show that (1) They believe a better life after death. (2) This world is not their perfect home (3) They defeat death. These are quite similar to Christian faith. Shall Christian also commit suicide at the highest point in our life to show our faith? Even Jesus choose to kill himself (John 10:18).
2 | Japanese's suicide is brave and honor | John 10:18 | Emmaus | 81846
Ivory, No, Christians should not commit suicide. They should take up their cross daily as Jesus instructed them metaphorically. Jesus did not commit suicide. he was crucified by others. He did not crucify Himself. He went willingly like a Lamb to the slaughter to be crucified by others. But He could say "I lay down my life and I have the power to take it up again." No one else has that power but God. We cannot take up our life again on our own, God must lift us up. we cannot give lief to ourselves, nor should we take our own lives. They are in God's hands. Below is a link to the story of the very first Japanese Christian martyrs, who give a better Christian example than writers committing suicide. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09744a.htm Emmaus |
