Luke 10:1 1Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come. So Jesus sent out 70 people to 35 places He was planning on going. Jesus had a pretty tight schedule. Is it documented where all these people went and at which point in Jesus ministry this occurred? Was He already on His way to Jerusalem? |

Hi Mike, If we look at the verse above in ch9 v 53 we can see that He was on His way to Jerusalem at that point, and though perhaps on a meandering path it does still look that way. Also, Scripture doesn't say how many city's or places He sent them to; just that He sent then to every one that He was going to visit. So, we cannot determine how many that was. We can also take a fairly well educated guess that this was at or near the end of His ministry, because He had been telling the twelve that He was going to be killed. Though we see as we read along in the next chapter He continues to teach and preach along the way, and since we know He crucifixion took place in Jerusalem, we can pretty safely assume this is on the way to Jerusalem, and was at or near the end of His ministry. Other's may be along to add more detail but that's my two cent's worth. I hope it helps. John |
