1 | using the word "whole" to emphasise | Luke 8:48 | Johnny45 | 116142
In the KJV Jesus says to the women, "And He said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee Whole; go in Peace." I would like opinions please, do you think the use of the word "Whole" is far better than others words that have substituted it.To me the word whole is, everything, altogether,a rounding of what Christ meant. 2 | using the word "whole" to emphasise | Luke 8:48 | Emmaus | 116144
Johnny45, The use of the word "whole" is rather old fashioned, but I think it makes an important point. The point is that Christ saves us from our brokeness, He restores that which is missing in us, God's grace, and we are made "whole" the complete people that we were meant to be. He restores our integrity as human beings as God created us to be. We lost our integrity when we were dis-graced by the sin of Adam who lacked faith in God and we regain our integrity and are made whole, graced, by faith in Christ who came to restore all things by being faithful, even to death on the cross. Look up the word whole in a good dictionary and it reflects the all that is implied in being made well from sickness or disease and more. An interesting question. Emmaus |

3 | using the word "whole" to emphasise | Luke 8:48 | Johnny45 | 116168
The word Whole appears 242 times in th KJV, I looked up the one,s in the New Testament, and some times the word is used as it is in the story of the Women in Luke. Each time it makes one feel the same way, that to be given the grace of Jesus in person, was a wonderfull thing to happen. John.
