The Roman Catholic church may have a teaching about this but the Bible doesn't. To answer one way may encourage people that suicide is acceptable. To answer the other way makes the survivors live with the terrible judgement on top of the loss they have. If this happened to someone you know then consider the that the Judge of the whole earth will do what is right. If you are considering this yourself then aren't you angry at God and why would you want to see God now? Seeking counselling can help a depressed person. There are medicines for both depression and bipolar disorder. Unfortunately antidepressants can give a depressed person enough will power to commit suicide before the depression lifts. People need to ask for a different medication if their suicidal ideas don't stop with one medicine. |
