Hi everyone, greetings and blessings who can shed some light on just who Lysanias is. He's mentioned only once in the New Testament by Luke. Luke 3:1 is the only reference in the NT. He's mentioned by Josephus who states that Lysanias succeeded his father, Plolemaeus, as the king of Chalcis. I hope this infomation helps shed some light on Lysanias and just who he is. | ||||||

God's day to you, SATNJ, Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene, is mentione with Pontius Pilate, Herod and Philip. There was a Lysanias who died in BC 36, which my be the one who Josephus mentioned. The one in the Bible may be his son. It is not always esy to find out info. Searhcer |
