I don't think there is an absolute answer to your question. At least, I don't have one. Of course there are medical problems and some of those could be with the husband, not necessarily the wife. But I think it unwise to attribute sin to another as a cause for a problem like this. John 9:2-3 And His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?"
