Dear Growing in the Spirit, Welcome to the forum. Looking at the screen to the right you will see a search feature for Book, Chapter, and verse, enter Luke 17:37 and select Go. This will bring you to the bible passage. Looking at the sceen you will see the verse in question Luke 17:37. To the left of this verse you will see two columns. One is represented by an "I" which is the verse information. The second column is represented by an "N" which is Notes for the verse. Click on the first column "I". Looking at the screen you will see the Cross References for this verse. Cross References are the best interpretation of scripture. Click on the "C" column and this will bring up the bible passage. Always read the entire chapter and look for who is speaking, who is being spoken to, what the topic is. Asking these types of questions will help you see what the passage is about. We see from these questions that this is about the second coming of Christ. I haven't done an in-depth study of this passage so upon first reading it appears that Matthew 24:28 which says "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather" then Matthew 24:29 says but immediately after the tribulation of those days.... so it appears upon first reading the corpse and vultures are something that will be happening during the great tribulation. There are different views of interpretaion. You can find these at Preceptaustin.org website. I believe it is a future time period. Blessings - Val |
