1 | better for him if a millstone were hung? | Mark 9:39 | Pastor Glenn | 94641 | ||
Mark 9 38 Now John answered Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us." 39But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. 40For he who is not against us is on our side. 41For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. 42 "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. " In light of verse 42 I would be afraid to attack Word of Faith followers or anyone else that are working in Jesus' name. Some might say that WOF have a different Jesus, but I notice in this scripture that Jesus did not make that distiction. There is a danger in trying to say that some have a different Jesus. The Jesus of the Mormons is a different story. The Mormons make it obvious. Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Romans 12 Behave Like a Christian 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"[1] says the Lord. 20Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."[2] 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. EdB, Any group that denies the deity of Christ obviously has Jesus Christ wrong. I feel that there are indeed bad teaching with many in the WOF movement, but to say they have a different Christ is very questionable. Now before you fly off the handle as you have so many times before, please pay closer attention to what people actually say. I have been looking for where Gracefull actually said that Jesus was "tortured by Satan". Copeland said it, but Gracefull merely said that He suffered in hell. Well, is that really enough to accuse her of having another Jesus? Also consider this scripture before you decide to weed out the tares: Mat 13 The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares 24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27So the servants of the owner came and said to him, "Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' 28He said to them, "An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, "Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' 29But he said, "No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.""' Glenn, Gracefull's quote: By yileding Himself to take our sin upon Himself, He yielded Himself to Satan, but only until the time was up. At which time He was raised triumphantly. At THAT time He led captivity captive. Our sin offering is the blood, our victorious resurrection (the New Birth) is in His resurrection. Romans 1:3-4 You can come to your own conclusion on what was said there but it seems to me Gracefull is strongly hinting at Suffer at the hands of satan. |
