Searcher: What is your scripture reference for the following? Searcher writes: "The spirit governs the soul, like the wind does to nature (or a governer on a engine). Our soul is our moral being, inner self." I say again: What is your SCRIPTURE reference? Show us the book, show us the chapter, show us the verse that teaches this. |

Kalos, God's morning to you, I posted the quote first on 09/25/01 (post 17356). I also said, "I base this on the Greek words. Spirit is pneu'ma and soul is yuchv. Bill Mc posted a site that may help: http://www.christinyou.net/constman.html" I reposted it twice 10/25/02 64799 and 11/20/02 67405 ... in the latter I even directed the person to you. I am surprised that you didn't speak up the first three times. I cannot find my old notes ... but, I remember, from school, that the wind does govern nature. Also, Luke 12:55 gives that hint. John 3:8 may not be right either. Does everything we say have to be backed up by Scripture? Then we are both in trouble. Searcher |

Searcher, my good and respected friend: You ask: "Does everything we say have to be backed up by Scripture?" Ín your post, ID#79108, 3-21-2003, you yourself quote the following Lockman guideline: "1. This post is biblically based and whenever possible, I have included Bible references to support it." Grace to you, kalos |

Kalos, I do agree ... and I do "whenever possible" cite the Bible. But, in this case, the Bible doesn't exactly mention the relationship between the spirit and soul ... and body. I think you have great posts on this subject (Rom 7:17, 1 The 5:23, Heb 4:12) and cited John MacArthur. I, too, wish the Bible would explain the relationship better ... the spirit and soul ... and body. So, I'll take my own medicine ... not say the Bible does not (clearly) say. Steve |
